The short version. FROG has no accounts and no analytics. Your tasks, focus sessions, reflections and settings are stored only on your device and are never sent to us or anyone else. The app itself never sends anything anywhere. If you choose to email us feedback, you send that email yourself from your own email app.
Who we are
FROG is made by Upwell Ventures Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17523917, registered office 66 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NA. We are the data controller for the limited personal data described below. You can contact us at frog@upwellventures.co.uk.
Data that stays on your device
Everything you put into FROG is stored locally on your phone or tablet (in the app's private storage, or your browser's local storage if you use the web version):
- tasks, deadlines, estimates, notes, checklists and definitions of done
- focus sessions, extensions and the reflections you record afterwards
- daily commitments and postponements
- your settings, such as theme and default pressure level
We cannot see, access or recover this data. It is not backed up to our servers, because we don't have any for it. It may be included in your device's own backups (for example iCloud or Google backups), which are governed by Apple's or Google's terms.
To delete it, use Settings › Delete all data in the app, or delete the app.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, FROG schedules "time's up" reminders on your device. They are created and delivered locally by your phone's operating system. No push notification service or device token is used.
Feedback you choose to send
Settings › Report a bug and Request a feature help you write an email to us. Tapping "Open in your email app" opens a pre-filled draft in your own email app. Nothing is sent until you press send there, and you can change or delete anything in the draft first. FROG itself transmits nothing.
If you send it, we receive what any email contains:
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The message you write | Always | To fix the bug or consider the idea |
| Your email address and name, as set in your email app | Always, because you send it from your account | To reply to you |
| App version, platform and OS version, language setting | Only if you leave "Include app version and device" switched on | To reproduce problems |
Your tasks, sessions and settings are never included. Emails are stored in our email account, which is provided by a third-party email service that processes them on our behalf. Some of that processing may take place outside the UK; where it does, it is covered by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in supporting and improving FROG, and in replying to you. We keep feedback emails for as long as we need them to deal with the issue, and delete them within 24 months.
Purchases
FROG is sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. We don't receive your name, payment details or contact details from them, only anonymous sales totals.
What we don't do
- No accounts, sign-in or user IDs
- No analytics, crash reporting SDKs or advertising identifiers
- No tracking across apps or websites, and no selling or sharing of data
- No cookies on this website
This website
This site uses no cookies, analytics or third-party content; its fonts are served from this site. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (such as IP address, time and page requested) to keep the site secure and running. These are kept for a short period and not used to identify you.
Children
FROG is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you (in practice, any feedback emails you've sent), object to its use, or ask us to restrict it. Email frog@upwellventures.co.uk and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change how FROG handles data, we'll update this page and the date above before the change takes effect. A change that means more data leaves your device would also be described in the app update's release notes.
